110kg ‘Baghair’ fish caught from Jamuna River

A group of fishermen netted a “giant” 110 kilogram “Bagahair” fish from the river Jamuna at Bahadurabadh of Chikajani union of Jamalpur.

The big-sized fish was caught on Saturday (February 27). Later, trader Sahidur Rahman bought it on Sunday (February 28) paying Tk1.21 lakh.

Sahidur Rahman said, after buying the fish, it was kept in Punnakandi area of Brahmaputra river to keep it alive. I am hope the price would be Tk1.65 lakh.

Confirming the matter, Dewanganj upazila fisheries officer Shafiqul Alam said, it is a deep water fish.
