Blasts at Ekattor TV, Paltan Police Station

Staff Correspondent, Oct 26: Unidentified miscreants on Saturday evening exploded several cocktail bombs in front of private satellite television channel Ekattor TV and Paltan Police Station.

The miscreants exploded six crude bombs in front of Ekattor TV office at Baridhara area of the capital around 7:45pm leaving one journalist and a cameraperson injured.

The injured were identified as Senior Newsroom Editor Zakaria Biplob and Cameraperson Alamgir Hossain.

Biplob has reportedly sustained serious lacerating wounds while Alamgir Hossain hit by shrapnel. Both are receiving treatment at the private hospital.

Ekattor has blamed supporters of the Opposition for the attack that took place on the eve of the 18-Party alliance’s 60-hour shutdown.

Meanwhile, miscreants threw two cocktail bombs into the Paltan Police Station leaving one constable injured.

Various news of subversive acts have been reaching from across the country ahead of opposition’s 60-hours hartal starting from Sunday morning.
