Shams Chowdhury, Saiful Alam made DGFI Chief, QMG

Major General Ahmed Tabrej Shams Chowdhury and Major General Md Saiful Alam have been made DG of DGFI and quartermaster general (QMG).

Md Saiful Alam has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general with the new post of quartermaster general (QMG).

Besides, Major General Ahmed Tabrej Shams Chowdhury has been assigned to DGFI as its director general. Earlier, he served as GOC of the 10th Infantry Division and area commander in Cox's Bazar.

According to the circular, Saiful Alam’s promotion will come to effective when he will take charge of the QMG.

SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, who was appointed the chief of the Bangladesh Army in June, was the previous QMG. Major General Saiful Alam will now take up the post.

Saiful Alam served as the commander of the 11th Infantry Division of the Bogura Cantonment prior to his assignment with the DGFI. He has won the ‘Sword of Honour’ and the ‘Academic Gold Medal’.
