Poet Nurul Huda new DG of Bangla Academy

The government has appointed renowned poet Mohammad Nurul Huda as the new Director General (DG) of Bangla Academy.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a circular in this regard on Monday (July 12).

According to the circular, he was appointed as the Director General of Bangla Academy for a period of 3 years from the date of joining on condition of resignation from other organizations.

Nurul Huda was earlier the executive director of Nazrul Institute. He is currently performing as member secretary of the Nazrul Birth Centenary Celebration Committee at the national level.

Bangla Academy Director General Habibullah Sirajee passed away on May 24. He had been suffering from cancer. Since then, AHM Lokman, secretary of the academy, has been performing as acting director general.
