Finally, the passport complexity of US expatriates has come to an end.
In Dhaka, 1,101 passports have already been printed against 1,364 processed applications from the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC after the complexity of passport printing was resolved.
The passports will be delivered to the embassy through FedEx immediately, according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC.
It may be mentioned that these applications were sent to the Immigration and Passport Department in Dhaka between June 21 and August 12.
Ferdousi Shahriar, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Bangladesh Embassy, praised the efforts of the Immigration and Passport Department officials in resolving the issue of issuing passports to expatriates in the United States.
It is to be noted that the government is moving towards providing better e-passports to the applicants instead of the conventional machine readable passports.
As part of this, a delegation led by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and officials from the Department of Immigration and Passports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will soon visit the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC and the Consulates General in New York and Los Angeles.
