ringID Director Saiful lands in jail

A Dhaka court has sent to jail Saiful Islam, director of e-commerce platform ringID, in a case lodged under Digital Security Act (DSA). 

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam passed the order on Tuesday as police produced the accused before the court after end of his two-day remand. 

Investigation officer (IO) and CID inspector Sohel Rana pleaded to keep Saiful in jail till the conclusion of the probe in the case. Saiful’s lawyer, however, pleaded for his bail.  

After hearing both sides, the court sent Saiful to jail and set October 11 to hold hearing on his plea for bail.
