Govt mulling to close Benapole border

The government is mulling to close Bangladesh-India border, especially Benapole border due to increasing the infection of Omicron, new variant of coronavirus, in the neighbouring West Bengal state of India.
Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen said this while talking to the reporters at the ministry on Monday (January 03) evening.
He said, “We are thinking of shutting down Benapole border as Omicron infection is alarming increasing in West Bengal of India. However, we have yet not taken final decision. But were very anxious over the speedy rise up of Omicron infection the Indian state.”
