Noted journo Pir Habibur Rahman passes away

Noted journalist Pir Habibur Rahman, Executive Editor of The daily Bangladesh Pratidin, has passed away at a hospital in the capital.

He breathed his last at Labaid Hospital around 4:08 pm on Saturday (February 05), physicians confirmed.

Earlier on Friday evening, he suffered a stroke while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital and was shifted to the ICU of Labaid Hospital in Dhaka.

Journalist Pir Habibur Rahman had been suffering many physical problems, including kidney disease.

In October last year, Pir Habibur Rahman underwent a bone marrow transplant at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre in Mumbai, India.
