US citizen killed in city: PBI to probe case against AC among 8

A Dhaka court has Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to probe into acase filed against eight people including Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Police in Badda Zone in the capital over Bangladesh origin US citizen Shafayet Mahbub Faraizi murder case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arafatul Rakib passed the order on Wednesday (February 09).

The court also asked PBI to submit the report on March 09.

Earlier, deceased’s mother Shamimun Nahar Lipi filed the case.

The other accused are: Bhatara Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mashiur, victim’s friends Sujana Tabassum Salam, Aftab, Shakhawat, Aswad, house-owner Kamrul Haque and caretaker Ripon.

Plaintiff’s lawyer Saroar Hossain confirmed the matter.
