TCB to sell soybean oil at Tk 110 per liter from Monday

The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will resume selling soybean oil at Tk 110 a liter from Monday (May 16), after a two week-suspension on Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. The activities will continue until May 30.
TCB spokesman Humayun Kabir said this on Sunday (May 15).
There is currently crisis of edible oil in kitchen market. The price of soybean oil increased from Tk 160 to Tk 198 per liter. However, TCB will sell the oil at Tk 110 from Monday, the first day of the sale after Eid vacation. Besides, sugar will be sold at Tk 55 per kg, lentils at Tk 65 per kg and gram at Tk 50 per kg.
TCB has been selling these products in open market at low price and subsidized prices among low-income families for long days to keep the prices of daily commodities affordable.
On Monday, TCB will sell goods through 300 open trucks at district and upazila level as well as in major cities of the country including the capital.
Humayun Kabir said a consumer can take a maximum of two liters of oil, two kgs of sugar, two kgs of lentil and gram from the truck of TCB distributor.
