Sitakunda explosion: Seriously injured being taken to Dhaka

The people who sustained seriously injuries in the explosion occurred in a privately-run inland container depot at Sitakunda in Chattogram are being taken to Dhaka by helicopters of the Army for better treatment.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) revealed the matter in a press release on Sunday (June 5) noon.

According to the press release, some 250 members of the Bangladesh Army are working in the rescue operation at BM container depot in Sitakunda, Chittagong. An Army expert team also working to assist in rescue operations and fire control activities. Besides, Army engineers and security personnel have also been deployed. The team is working to prevent the spread of chemicals in the sea. Army military police are also assisting in controlling the situation. Moreover, Army medical team has been working to provide treatment to the injured since Saturday night.

Ambulances of Army are also assisting to bring the injured to Chattogram Medical and Chattogram CMH.
