Rail communication between Dhaka and other parts of the country has been restored after three and a half hours of suspension following a student movement triggered on the allegation of selling tickets through illegal ways.
Kamalapur railway station manager Mohammad Masud Sarwar said, “Train operations from Dhaka to other destinations across the country got suspended due to student movement around 9am. Later on assurance from the authorities, students left the rail line and train operations from Dhaka to other parts of the country resumed from airport station area around 12:45 pm.”
Earlier, train operations from Dhaka to other destinations across the country were suspended as some students blocked the rail line at Airport Station in the capital around 9am on Wednesday (July 20).
The students, who are supposed to appear at Rajshahi University admission test, blocked the station after not getting tickets. They alleged that all tickets have been sold in just four minutes.
