Instability in dollar market: FBCCI urges to take actions

Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) has urged the Bangladesh Bank (BB) to take actions against any bank and businessman if they are involved in making the dollar market instable.

After the meeting, President of FBCCI Md. Jasim Uddin told journalists, “Bangladesh Bank and other banks know who are creating instability in the market by opening LCs and moving those to other places. Banks and businessmen involved in the activities should be identified, and actions should be taken against them. Because, no person and institution can be big than the country. Actions should be taken against those who are causing chaos in the economic sector.

He said, “Bangladesh Bank issued a rescheduling circular a few days ago. We have talked about that circular. We have said that like the big organizations, small ones should also get the facilities equally”.

The FBCCI president said, “I think there is no discipline in the dollar market after seeing the newspapers. I have requested the governor to bring a discipline.
