BRTA, transport owners meet to readapt bus fares

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) officials have joined a meeting with the leaders of transport owners’ associations to readjust fares after a fuel price hike.
The meeting sources said that BRTA wants to increase the fare at least 15 percent while the leaders of transport owners’ associations demand 30 percent hike.
Earlier, the meeting was started 5:00pm at BRTA Bhaban in the capital. After the meeting BRTA Chairman will disclose the outcome officially.
BRTA Chairman Nur Mohammad Mazumder, BRTA director (admin) Md Azizul Islam, Director (operation) Md Lokman Hossain Mollah, representatives of transport workers and police officers were also present in the meeting.
