New Deputy Speaker to take oath Sunday

New Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad will take oath on Sunday (August 28).

The oath taking ceremony will be held around 7.00pm at the President Chamber of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

A letter signed by Shawkat Akber, senior assistant secretary of Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, disclosed this on Thursday. However, the letter did not mention the name of new Deputy Speaker.

On July 23, Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah passed away while undergoing treatment at New York in the United States.

On July 25, the post was declared vacant.
