Babul Akter is quite a clever man: Home boss

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, “Complaint of former Chittagong Superintendent of Police (SP) Babul Akter against six officials of Police Bureau of Investigations (PBI) including PBI Chief Banaj Kumar Majumder will be investigated. Before the investigation, nothing can be said about the matter.”

In response to a query of journalists, the minister said, “Babul Akter is quite a clever man. It’s up to him what he is saying. I have no comment on this. Everything will be clear after the investigation.”

Kamal made such comments while speaking at a function in the capital’s Shahbagh on Saturday (September 10).

Earlier, former Chittagong Superintendent of Police (SP) Babul Akter lodged the complaint before a court against six officials of Police Bureau of Investigations (PBI) including PBI Chief Banaj Kumar Majumder for torturing and attempting to kill him in police custody.

Babul, who is now in jail in a case over the killing of his wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu, lodged the complaint against the six PBI officers with the court of Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge Jebinnessa on Thursday (September 8).
