Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun becoming IGP

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General (DG) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun is going to become new Inspector General of Police (IGP).

Sources in the Ministry of Home Affairs confirmed this on Wednesday night. 

Ministry of Home Affairs will issue a gazette notification soon in this regard. 

He will replace Benazir Ahmed who will retire on September 30.

He also served as the chief of the Criminal Investigation Department.

Abdullah Al Mamun joined Bangladesh Police as an assistant superintendent of police in 1986.
