Artist Samarjit Roy Chowdhury dies

Artist Samarjit Roy Chowdhury passed away at a private hospital in Dhaka on Sunday (October 9). He was 85.

Dhaka University fine arts faculty dean Nisar Hossain confirmed the matter to risingbd.

The body of the artist will be kept at DU’s fine arts faculty at 10:00am on Monday where his well-wishers will pay their last respect.

Samarjit Roy graduated in graphic design from the then Government Art Institute, now the faculty of fine art, Dhaka University in 1960.

He joined the faculty of Dhaka University and worked for 43 years and retired as a professor in 2003.
