Former DIG Mizan sacked

Former deputy inspector general (DIG) Mizanur Rahman has been terminated on charge of corruption.

Public Security Division, under the home ministry, issued a notification signed by its senior secretary Md Aminul Islam Khan on Thursday (November 3).

The notification said that his termination will be counted from 23 February 2022 when he was sentenced to three years in prison by the High Court.

Earlier on July 16, 2019, ACC’s Dhaka Integrated District Office-1 Director Sheikh Md Fanafilla filed the case against him over the transaction of Tk40 lakh as a bribe.
