Sajeeb Wazed Joy appears before court

Sajeeb Wazed Joy, ICT affairs adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, appeared and testified before a Dhaka court in a case filed over plotting to “abduct and kill” him.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Muhammad Asaduzzaman Nur is scheduled to record his statement at the courtroom on Sunday (November 13).
Joy went to the court at 3:17pm. Centering the issue, tight security measures were taken at the court premises.
Details will be disclosed later after the hearing, said Awami League legal affairs secretary Kazi Najib Ullah Hiru.
The accused in case are Shafik Rehman; Mahmudur Rahman, acting editor of Bangla daily Amar Desh; Mohammad Ullah Mamun, vice-president of Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (Jasas); and his son Rizvi Ahmed Caesar; and Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan, an expat businessman living in the United States.
On August 3, 2015, the Detective Branch of police filed the case with Paltan Police Station in connection with the attempt to abduct and murder Joy.
