Prime Minister Sheikh has made a response to the critics over reserve, saying that her government has hiked the reserve to record high and is doing all works after keeping the enough amount at hands.

“Still, there is reserve to buy foods for five months, where it is fine for three months,” she added.

She said this while addressing the beginning of advisory council meeting of the party at her official residence Ganabhaban on Saturday (November 19).

PM said, “There is a lot of discussion about the reserve, what have we done? We had to buy fuel oil and bought edible oil, wheat, corn, food grains. We bought the coronavirus vaccines by sending special plane. Hospitals were dedicated to Covid treatment and free treatment has been ensured.”

Reminding the fact that doctors, nurses and health workers are rented houses separately from their families during the coronavirus period, the head of government said that they do not get sick and the family also does not get affected. We have given them separate allowance for providing medical services at risk.

She also expressed her surprise at the questions raised by those who took the vaccine and received treatment for free.

Prime Minister said when the BNP was in power, they had kept reserves of only 2.9 billion US dollars, which was not enough money for three months of food or imports. From that situation we increased the reserve after coming to power (1996). When we came in (power) 2008, it was not more than 5 billion, from there we were able to raise up to 48 billion. Moreover, we will never default on our loans. We did other works keeping three months of import expenses in hand.”
