Italy wants to supply LNG to Bangladesh

Italian state-owned energy company Eni SPA has expressed interest in supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Bangladesh.

Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh Enrico Nunziata said this while addressing a meeting with State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid at the minister's office on Wednesday (December 7).

Renewable energy, hydrocarbon production, and LNG were discussed between the two sides in the meeting.

The Italian ambassador said that the Eni SPA wants to work on exploration, LNG, bio, traditional refining activities, and new technologies to contribute to Bangladesh's sustainable energy system.

Senior Secretary for Energy and Mineral Resources Division Md Mahbub Hossain and others attended the discussion.
