Auto-rickshaw hits truck, two killed

Two people were killed and two other injured as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit a truck standing on the road in the capital's Jatrabari area early Friday.
The deceased are auto-rickshaw driver Md. Momin Mia, 37, and Md Palash, 50, a fish trader.
The injured are fish traders Md. Shah Ali, 36, and Md. Sumon, 40. They have been admitted to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Salman Rahman, sub-inspector (SI) of Jatrabari Police Station, said the accident occurred around 5:00am. The auto-rickshaw crashed into the truck on its way to Jatrabari wholesale fish market as the truck driver suddenly stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road, leaving four occupants of the auto-rickshaw critically injured.
The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where Momin and Palash were declared dead, he added.
