Gazette issued declaring Md Shahabuddin as 22nd President

The Election Commission (EC) has issued a gazette notification declaring Md Shahabuddin as the country’s 22nd President.

EC Secretary Jahangir Alam signed the notification on Monday (February 13).

Earlier, EC elected the ruling Awami League nominated presidential candidate Mohammad Shahabuddin unopposed on the day.

Chief election commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal announced this to the reporters at the Nirbachan Bhaban.

He said that the EC announced Shahabuddin elected as only one person submitted nomination paper and his papers were found valid.
