Govt to import 1.5 lakh tonnes of fertilizer from Tunisia

The government will import 1.5 lakh tonnes of fertiliser to meet domestic demand for uninterrupted agricultural production from Tunisia in 2023.

Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) and Tunisian Chemical Group (GCT) signed an MoU in this regard in the Tunisian capital Tunis on Tuesday (February 14).

BADC Chairman Abdullah Sajjad and GCT general manager signed the MoU.

Agriculture Secretary Wahida Akhtar and Agriculture Ministry Deputy Chief Badiul Alam were present on the occasion.

BADC is importing TSP from Tunisia from 2008 to meet local demand.
