Youtuber Heron arrested 

The Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested popular youtuber and actor Prottoy Heron and his two associates for allegedly promoting illegal online gambling sites on Youtube videos and web series.

Deputy Commissioner of Cyber and Special Crime Department of DB Mohammad Tareque Bin Rashid confirmed this to the media on Friday (February 24).

He said they were arrested from Narayanganj on Thursday (February 23). Heron’s two associates Raihan and Hamid were also arrested with him. Of them, Hamid is a youtuber.

Heron used to promote online gambling platforms 1XBET, BABU88, Crickex through his youtube channel ‘Azaira Limited’. Heron used to charge Tk 10,000 per video for advertising from the agents of these gambling sites.
Heron and his associates were kept under surveillance for a year. Last week, a case was filed with Ramna police station in this connection. They were shown arrested in the case.
