Awami League works to ensure rights of people of all religions: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that whenever Awami League comes to power, it works to ensure the rights of people of all religious beliefs.

The premier said this when the leaders of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council paid a courtesy call on her at Ganabhaban on Wednesday (April 12).

The Prime Minister told the leaders that the religion is different but the festival is for everyone.

She said her government is taking the country forward by implementing the ideology of Bangabandhu and the spirit of Liberation War.

After the meeting, Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Shakhawat Moon told this to the the reporters.

In the meeting led by the general secretary of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council Rana Das Gupta, the leaders said discrimination has been eliminated in all areas like employment, recruitment and promotion in the country.

They thanked the Prime Minister for the people of different religions freely exercising their religious practices.

Barrister Biplob Barua, Special Assistant to Prime Minister and Secretary of Awami League and Central Committee member Nirmal Kumar Chatterjee were present at this time.
