EC summons Azmat Ullah over breaching code of conduct

The Election Commission (EC) has summoned Azmat Ullah, the Awami League candidate for mayoral race in Gazipur City Corporation, for allegedly breaching the code of conduct.

A letter signed by Md Atiur Rahman, deputy secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat was issued in this regard on Sunday (April 30).

According to the letter, Azmat Ullah has been asked to appear in the EC headquarters in Dhaka on May 7 and give explanation.

H M Kamrul Hasan, assistant returning officer of Gazipur City Corporation election and the district election officer, confirmed the matter.
