Sale of advance train ticket for Eid trips begins

Bangladesh Railway has started selling online advance train tickets to reduce the suffering of people returning home during Eid-ul-Adha on Wednesday morning.

No crowds and long queues were noticed this time at the Kamalapur railway station during the sale of advance train tickets.

Md Masud Sarwar, station manager of Kamalapur railway station, said, “Sale of advance train tickets begins today with no crowds at the station. Like the previous Eid-ul-Fitr, 100% of tickets will be sold online.” 

Tickets for June 24 are being sold today.

Train tickets are being sold in two shifts this time to prevent the e-ticket server from going down due to the pressure of excess buyers.

The sale of tickets for the West Zone started at 8am, while tickets for the East Zone will start at noon.

Besides, standing tickets will be issued at four counters.

Apart from this, tickets for June 25, 26, 27 and 28 will be available on June 15, 16, 17 and 18, respectively.

The advance sale of return tickets will start on June 22.

Tickets for July 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be available on June 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 respectively.
