Bridge Minister orders repairing damaged roads ahead of Eid

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has directed all concerned to repair the damaged-roads across the country ahead of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha.

The minister gave this instruction at the preparatory meeting on Eid journey of the home-bound people at Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) office in city's Banani area on Thursday (June 15).

He also said that the plying of heavy vehicles, including trucks and lorries, will be banned from 7 days before Eid.

Noting that the holy Eid-ul-Azha will be challenging this year, Quader, also the Awami League (AL) general secretary, underscored the need for increasing road monitoring by the law enforcers to make the people's Eid journey smooth and trouble-free.
