Not being glued to just likes, comments, posts or chatting with friends, young entrepreneur Abu Sayem of Rangpur has changed his fortune in a very short time by doing Facebook marketing and F-commerce business. Side by side, he has also established himself as a successful entrepreneur.

Sayem said that after his father died when he was only 13 years old, his family became very upset and then he got the idea of freelancing by browsing various sites like Google and YouTube. After a few years, the way of his income opened from Facebook, he took the responsibility of the whole family. Now his monthly income is more than Tk two lakh.

Sayem also said that F-Commerce has opened the way for many more people to earn from this business, and has built two freelancing training centres named Inbox IT and Sayem Academy with an aim of creating entrepreneurs for young people.

Talking about the potential of young people in F-commerce, Sayem said, “Facebook is the biggest social media in the world. From here 1.5 million people use Facebook every day and on an average every user spends 20 minutes browsing on Facebook. It is understood that there is no alternative to Facebook for new entrepreneurs and I think new entrepreneurs should focus on marketing on Facebook to become successful very quickly.

Sayem has now started teaching freelancing to the youth of the city as well as his own village. From here, the youth are getting motivated about various means of outsourcing including Affiliate Marketing, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Lead Generation, CPA Marketing, Content Marketing, Social Media Marketing.

Abu Sayem is the son of deceased Abdul Awal of Dolapara village of Alambiditar union of Gangachara upazila of Rangpur. His father was the imam of a local mosque. Mother Arjina Begum is a housewife. Sayem is the fifth among four sisters and two brothers.

After the death of Sayem’s father, the whole family fell into poverty. That’s when he started thinking of doing something. Then he turned to the Internet. Throughout the day, he went through various sites including Google and YouTube to get freelancing and online business ideas.

Sayem wants to start freelancing and online business without a trainer and choose teaching as a career after graduation.

Sayem said, we are two brothers and four sisters in the family. But my responsibility is a little more. At the end of the month, I earn about Tk two lakh. From this income, I am taking care of my family and my younger brother’s education. I have already married my elder sisters.

Expressing interest in playing a role in eliminating unemployment, Sayem said, unemployment is a curse. I want the children of this generation to learn online business. If you want to do something along with your studies instead of just studying, you should take advantage of freelancing. If you can work 8 to 10 hours a day with freelancing, it is possible to avoid unemployment.

Umar Faruk, associate professor of Begum Rokeya University, said, “Outsourcing or freelancing profession will be considered as a major sector for creating skilled manpower in Bangladesh in the future. So, it is important to properly assess and capture this sector. Due to this profession, the rate of educated unemployed youth in the country will decrease and thousands of people like Sayem will get areas of independent employment.
