Traders stage demo blocking Gulshan road

Traders and shop owners staged a demonstration blocking the busy Gulshan road in Dhaka on Thursday noon in protest against sealing Gulshan Shopping Centre.

Traders took to the street of Gulshan-1 intersection and halted traffic movement, causing huge traffic jam in the area.

Assistant Police Commissioner Abdullah Al Masum said, huge number of policemen have been deployed in the area to bring the situation under control and to ease traffic movement. 

Dhaka North City Corporation representatives sealed the shopping center around 12pm, mentioning it as hazardous and risky one.

DNCC representatives faced strong resistance from traders at that time. Later, they staged a demonstration blocking the busy Gulshan road.
