Newborn’s death: Doctor Mili gets bail

A Dhaka court allowed bail to Central Hospital Doctor Begum Maksuda Farida Akter Mili in a case lodged over the death of a newborn due to alleged negligence and wrong treatment.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain passed the order as the accused surrendered before the court and pleaded for bail on Wednesday (July 19).

Dhanmandi police station general registration wing sub-inspector Mahfuzul Islam confirmed the matter.

Earlier on July 18, two other accused Dr Muna Saha and Dr Shahjadi Mustashirda Sultana secured bail in the case.

One Yakub Ali filed the case with Dhanmandi Police Station against 5/6 people on June 14, alleging his newborn son died on June 10 because of negligence and wrong treatment at the hospital and now the life of his wife too is at risk.
