DSA transformed into Cyber Security Act: Law Minister

The government has decided to change the Digital Security Act (DSA) to Cyber Security Act, in which sections of the existing law will be amended.

Law Minister Anisul Huq confirmed this to risingbd on Monday (August 7).

“Cyber Security Act has been prepared incorporating the sections of previous Digital Security Act with some necessary amendments. We have formulated a draft for Cyber Security Act with an intent to stop the misuse and abuse of the DSA,” the law minister said.

He said the draft for transforming the DSA was placed today in the Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The cabinet approved the draft in principle, Anisul said.
