Akhtarul Islam made new ADC of Ramna Zone

Shah Alam Md Akhtarul Islam, who was serving as the additional deputy (ADC) commissioner of Khilgaon Zone in the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Motijheel Division, has been posted as the new ADC of Ramna Zone.

DMP Media and Public Relations deputy commissioner Md Faruk Hossain confirmed the matter.

An office order, signed by DMP commissioner Khandker Golam Faruq, announced the posting, he said.

The additional deputy commissioner (Ramna Zone) Harun Ar Rashid was transferred on Sunday by the DMP from Ramna Crime Division to the Public Order Management (POM) Division of the DMP for allegedly beating up two central leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) inside Shahbagh Police Station on Saturday night. Several hours later, Police Headquarters issued a new posting order for ADC Harun to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn).

On Monday afternoon, the Home Ministry issued a circular, suspending ADC Harun.
