Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal has directed the deputy commissioners (DCs) and superintendents of police (SPs) to perform their duties staying above political bias.
“People will have to see whether the election was fair, voters were able to enter voting center peacefully and exercise their voting rights. If we can ensure the huge presence of voters and voters can cast their votes without any fear, it will be a big success in the election,” Habibul Awal said while inaugurating an election workshop of DCs and SPs held at the Election Training Institute on Saturday (October 14).
Pointing out to the DCs and SPs, Awal said, “You will have to earn people’s confidence by performing your duties impartially in the upcoming parliamentary elections as employees of the state and the government.”
He hoped that there will be no irregularities or violence in the upcoming general elections.
