Prof Maksud Kamal made new DU VC

Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr ASM Maksud Kamal has been named as the 29th vice-chancellor of the university.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin made the appointment, while the education ministry disclosed it through a gazette notification on Sunday (October 26).

He will take charge of the office on November 4.

The current VC Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman's tenure will expire on November 2.

Prof Kamal of the Disaster Science and Management department was appointed as the pro-VC (academic) of the university in 2020. Maksud Kamal is the founder chairman of the department.
