Shayestaganj Thana OC suspended

Shayestaganj Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Nazmul Haque Kamal has temporary been suspended as it has been proved that he sent a letter to a business organization for extortion.

Additional Police Super of Habiganj Sadar Police Super Khalilur Rahman confirmed the news on Monday night (October 16).

According to sources, a letter signed by the OC was sent to Habiganj Industrial Park, demanding Tk 3,50,000 as extortion for two programmes.

Police Super Khalilur Rahman said they have rescued a letter that demanded Tk one lakh for purchasing foods for a views exchange meeting on the occasion of Durga Puja.

The letter also demanded Tk 2,50,000 for purchasing  foods and other purposes on the occasion of Community Policing Day on October 28.
