EU to send team to observe national polls

The European Union (EU) will send four observers to monitor the 12th parliamentary polls.

Additional Secretary of Election Commission Ashok Kumar Debnath confirmed the news on Thursday.

The EU observers will reach Bangladesh on November 21 and stay in the country till January 21. They will also publish a report after the elections.

Earlier on September 20, The European Union informed the EC that they would not send a fully-fledged election observation mission for the upcoming national polls.
