Patuakhali-1 by-polls on Nov 26

The by-election to Patuakhali-1 constituency will be held on November 26.

Election Commission Secretary Md Jahangir Alam made the announcement after a meeting of the commissioners on Tuesday (October 24).

The EC secretary said last date for submitting nomination papers has been set on November 1, scrutiny of nomination papers on November 2, while the last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 9.

The parliament secretariat on Sunday (October 22) announced the constituency vacant after former state minister for religious affairs and Patuakhali-1 lawmaker Shahjahan Miah died on Saturday.
