Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that Jamaat-e-Islami will not be allowed to hold rallies on October 28. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will decide where BNP will hold their rally in the capital.
The home boss said this after an inter-ministerial meeting on this year’s Victory Day at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
“Jamaat-e-Islami is not a registered party yet, so they will not get permission to hold rallies under its banner,” he said.
Stating that no party has yet been given permission to hold rally, the home minister said that the DPM commissioner knows the matter of BNP's request for holding the rally.
If BNP holds their anti-government rally peacefully at a certain place, authorities have nothing to do about that.
Responding to a question about the permission for holding October 28 rally by the BNP, the home minister said, “They (BNP) will bring all those who do BNP from all over Bangladesh to Dhaka. If so many people come to Dhaka, a different kind of situation can be created.”
