BNP’s grand rally halted, Kakrail-Nayapaltan battlefield

Kakrail-Nayapaltan area of the capital turned into a battlefiled as BNP and policemen locked into clashes on Saturday noon.

BNP leaders and activists were dispersed and took shelter in different lanes as a result BNP’s grand rally at Nayapaltan was halted.

After the clashes policemen chased the BNP men participating in the rally. Police also charged tear shell, sound grenade and rubber bullets to disperse the BNP men as a result they left the area.

Later, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced countrywide hartal for Sunday in protest against police attack on their rally.
