BNP-Jamaat’s dawn-to-dusk hartal underway

The dawn-to-dusk hartal, enforced by the BNP and Jamaat, is underway across the country on Sunday (October 29).
The shutdown began at 6 am and will end at 6 pm. However, the presence of motorized vehicles was almost normal on the capital streets.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman reiterated that stern action will be taken if anyone tries to create anarchy in the name of hartal.
Earlier on Saturday (October 28), BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul announced the dawn-to-dusk hartal across the country for Sunday.
On the other hand, the Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association announced that their vehicles will operate today, despite the nationwide hartal called by BNP and Jamaat.
