The central office of BNP in the capital’s Nayapaltan has been under control of police since October 28 (Saturday) after the area was declared as ‘crime zone’.
No BNP man was seen near the central office in last two days. Crime zone written tape is still in place around the office, cordoning off the party’s headquarters as police are stationed nearby.
The central office has also remained locked.
Office staff, who were living in fourth floor, have taken shelter in the houses of relatives.
BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi claimed anything happened in the BNP central office on October 28. But why, police has cordoned off the BNP's central office, he questioned.
Meanwhile, technicians are installing new CCTV cameras on lampposts near the office.
Most of the party's leaders have gone into hiding after cases were filed against them. A Dhaka court sent BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to jail in a case.
