2 placed on 7-day remand in police murder case

A Dhaka court has placed two suspects on a seven-day remand for interrogation in connection with the case filed over killing constable Amirul Islam Parvez during the clash between law enforcers and BNP men in the capital’s Fakirapool area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ali Haider passed the order following hearing in the case on Monday (October 30).
Earlier, Paltan Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Salah Uddin Kader, also the investigation officer of the case, produced the accused before the court with 10-day remand prayer.
The remanded accused are Shamim Reza, convener of Palashbari unit of Juba Dal, from Gaibandha, and Md Sultan.
Constable Amirul Islam Parvez was beaten to death at Fakirapool crossing on Saturday (October 28) during the clash between the main opposition BNP and law enforcers.
