Biden’s so-called advisor lands in jail

Jahidul Islam Arefi introducing himself as an advisor to US President Joe Biden during a press briefing at the BNP office on October 28 was sent to jail in a case filed for concealing personal information.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ali Haider on Monday (October 30) ordered police to send Arefi to jail after Sub-Inspector (SI) of Paltan Model Police Station Suzanur Islam, also the investigation officer of the case, produced him before the court and pleaded to keep him detained in jail.

Earlier, police detained Arefi while he was ‘fleeing to the USA’. He was detained from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
