US embassy seeks consular access for Mian Arefi

The US Embassy in Dhaka has sought consular access for Mian Zahidul Islam Arefi, who introduced himself as an advisor to US President Joe Biden.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam informed this to media at a briefing held at Jamuna state guest house in the city on Monday afternoon.

Shahriar said, “The US Embassy asked for access in the matter and we will take lawful steps towards making it happen.”

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, Law Minister Anusul Huq and Prime Minister’s private sector affairs adviser Salmman F Rahman were present at the briefing.
