Mirza Abbas, Alal arrested

Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas and Joint Secretary General Moazzem Hossain Alal.

Mirza Abbas was arrested around 8:30pm on Tuesday from his Shahjahanpur residence in the city and Moazzem Hossain Alal was arrested from another house in the same area.

Chief of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Harun-ur-Rashid confirmed the news.

They have been arrested in a case filed for arson and vandalism on October 28 and 29 in Paltan area.   They have been kept at DB’s Motijheel Division office and will be produced before the court after primary interrogation, DB sources said.
