Mirza Abbas placed on 5-day remand in pistol snatching case

A Dhaka court has placed BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas on a five-day remand in a case filed over carrying out subversive activities and snatching pistol in Shahjahanpur Police Station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin passed the order on Wednesday (November 1) as police produced the senior BNP leader before the court with five-day remand prayer in the case.
Earlier, Mirza Abbas was produced before the court around 1:30 pm in the sabotage case filed with Shahjahanpur Police Station.
Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested BNP leader Mirza Abbas around 8:30pm on Tuesday (October 31) from his Shahjahanpur residence in the city.
Earlier on October 29, sub-inspector Mostafizur Rahman of Shahjahanpur Police Station filed the case against Mirza Abbas and 48 others. Another 700 to 800 unnamed people were made accused in the case.
