Biden’s so-called adviser Arefi put on 5-day remand

Mian Zahidul Islam Arefi, who introduced himself as an advisor to US President Joe Biden, has been put on a five-day remand in a case filed for proving false information.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Nurul Huda Chowdhury granted the remand virtually on Thursday.
Earlier Jamal Uddin Mir, DB police inspector and investigation officer of the case, sought five days remand.
Sub Inspector of Paltan Thana Shah Alam confirmed the news.
Mian Jahidul Islam Arefi was detained from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on October 29 noon while he was ‘fleeing to the USA.
He introduced himself as an advisor to US President Joe Biden during a press briefing at the BNP office. Later, the US Embassy in Dhaka confirmed that he is not any responsible person of the US government.
